About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our team at Barrett Steel Limited, a leading steel stockholder in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a talented and dedicated team to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program and operate profiling machines, including lasers and saws, to optimize production efficiency.
  • Produce high-quality digital drawings and 3D models from customer specifications and requirements.
  • Minimize waste and scrap per program, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
  • Manage machine workload and collaborate with operators to achieve overall Equipment Effectiveness.
  • Provide excellent customer liaison and communication, working closely with internal departments to meet business objectives.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and skilled individual with excellent verbal, written, and numeracy skills. Essential qualifications include experience as a CAD Technician in a similar heavy industry environment, ideally within the steel industry. Proficiency in Solidworks and Artube Lasertube Programming Software is also required.
