Job Summary:

We are seeking an Apprentice Planner to join our team in the East Midlands and East of England. As an Apprentice Planner, you will assist with providing construction planning support to live/onsite projects and, as experience is gained, the job requirements will increase to include planning support for projects in the pre-construction/tender stage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain an understanding of Project management, Logistics and Sequencing
  • Ascertain and report progress on live projects, utilising Asta Powerproject and associated SiteProgress mobile app
  • Update trackers and trial the introduction of new software, where appropriate
  • Assist with tender/pre-construction programmes, managing enquiries for temporary services, fencing, security etc
  • Interpreting programmes and creating phasing drawings (in Microsoft Powerpoint) including logistics/constraints/plant/access etc
  • Visit sites to ascertain conditions and constraints to be taken into account when preparing tender programmes and method statements
  • Liaise with internal and external key stakeholders and third parties to establish optimum, compliant programmes
  • Collate/Assist/Support in the production of As-Built records
  • Assist with the production of clear and concise statements describing the programme strategy and construction methodology
  • Develop an understanding of Preliminaries Assessment
  • Become familiar with the Galliford Try BMS and Information Management systems
