About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our Engineering Team at Bilfinger UK. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most stimulating and groundbreaking EPC and construction projects in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, manage, and close projects to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Accountable for project budget, time, and safety, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and own project execution plans, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Lead the development of project programs, ensuring effective resource allocation and coordination.
  • Responsible for obtaining lead resources, including personnel and equipment, to support project delivery.
  • Avoid and resolve conflicts within the team and with third parties, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Coordinate and lead the project team, ensuring clear goals, objectives, and expectations are established and met.
  • Lead commercial change management, ensuring effective communication and negotiation with clients and stakeholders.
  • Act as the client focal contact, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.
  • Monitor, report, and forecast project progress, identifying and addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Hold the project team accountable for their delivery, motivation, and management, ensuring a high-performing team.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience as a Project Manager in multi-discipline projects, preferably in an EPCM/EPC company, in the chemical, petrochemical, nuclear, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, biopharma, power, energy, utilities, renewables, and food and beverage sectors.
  • Experience in developing project schedules and managing project timelines.
  • Good knowledge of construction activities across all disciplines and how these integrate to successful project delivery.
  • Sound practical knowledge of and experience with various phases of engineering and construction projects, including detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and decommissioning.
  • Experience and good understanding of working with common standard forms of contract, particularly NEC.
  • Result-oriented, with a focus on delivering high-quality projects that meet client expectations.
  • Ability to plan and organize activities, ensuring effective resource allocation and coordination.
  • Capable of identifying growth opportunities within the company, supporting sales, business management, company procedures, and strategies.
  • Delegation skills, with the ability to monitor and intervene as necessary to ensure project success.
  • Implementation of a solid change control procedure, ensuring effective communication and negotiation with clients and stakeholders.
  • Leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to lead and motivate the project team to achieve targets, even in the face of setbacks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSc/BEng/MSc or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer.
  • Qualification from the Association for Project Management (APM).
  • Experience as a Project Manager in highly regulated process industries.
