We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Shielding Engineer to join our Nuclear & Power Division. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in designing complex new schemes to protect our clients' assets.

Your Responsibilities

  • Support delivery on client projects, either on behalf of AtkinsRéalis or within the client's organisation.
  • Direct multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex and unique projects in highly regulated nuclear environments.
  • Enhance radiation protection and safety processes and procedures.
  • Assist in the production of bids and proposals.
  • Implement and contribute to our safety culture.

Requirements

  • Science or engineering expertise (physics, chemistry, mechanical, chemical or process engineering, degree qualified or equivalent).
  • Understanding and experience of industry recognised radiation transport codes such as; MCNP, MCBEND, RANKERN, SCALE and ATTILA.
  • Successful delivery of shielding assessments including the development of key associated documentation.
  • Experience working as a radiation shielding engineer within multi-disciplined project teams.
  • Teamwork and collaborative qualities.
  • An appreciation of what's required for design when working in safety critical industries, like nuclear.
  • An appreciation of project and client management.
  • An understanding of the fundamental factors that contribute to business success.
