Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, promoting their social and emotional development.
  • Implement strategies and interventions to address specific needs, working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging students to thrive academically and personally.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of behaviour support plans, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar Teaching Assistant role, with a strong understanding of SEMH strategies and interventions.
  • Empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
