Restaurant Assistant Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Assistant Manager to join our team at GPS Hospitality. As a key member of our restaurant management team, you will be responsible for supporting the Restaurant General Manager in achieving operational excellence and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that your team provides outstanding service and meets customer expectations.
  • Train and coach the team to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Utilize GPS Hospitality's systems and processes to run a high-performing restaurant.
  • Implement restaurant controls and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Meet operational standards, including speed of service, food safety, and cleanliness.
  • Meet positive food and labor variance and take action to improve results.
  • Work all shifts, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, late night, and weekends, as required by the business.
  • Set an example by maintaining a high level of proficiency in restaurant operations.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to the team.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and follow all government regulations and employment laws.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail setting.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a high-volume setting.
  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the US.
  • ServSafe certification preferred.
