We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Neonatal Nurse to join our Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) team at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to premature and critically ill newborns, working in partnership with families to provide individualized care and support.
The SCBU is a Level 1-7 cot unit, providing care to babies from 32 weeks' gestation and above. We are proud to have achieved a gold accreditation for the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative, demonstrating our commitment to providing exceptional care to our patients and their families.
Main Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality patient care to premature and critically ill newborns, working in partnership with families to provide individualized care and support.
- Implement and evaluate family-centered care, ensuring that the needs of patients and their families are met.
- Take delegated responsibility for a group of neonates, working as part of a team to ensure the smooth operational running of the unit.
- Mentor pre-registration students and more junior members of staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development.
- Act as Nurse in Charge of the shift as required, demonstrating leadership and management skills.
- Contribute to the cleaning and maintenance of the ward environment, ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Registered RN (Child) with NMC
- Neonatal experience
- Qualification in Speciality (Neonatal)
Desirable criteria include:
- Safeguarding training
- Teaching and assessing qualification
