Neonatal Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Neonatal Nurse to join our Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) team at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. As a Neonatal Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to premature and critically ill newborns, working in partnership with families to achieve the best possible outcomes.
The SCBU is a Level 1-7 cot unit, providing care to babies from 32 weeks' gestation and above. We are proud to have achieved a gold accreditation for the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative, demonstrating our commitment to providing exceptional care to our patients and their families.
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in neonatal care, working with a highly experienced and dedicated team of nurses and healthcare professionals. Main Duties- Deliver high-quality care to premature and critically ill newborns, working in partnership with families to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Implement and evaluate family-centred care, ensuring that the needs of each patient and their family are met.
- Take delegated responsibility for a group of neonates, working as part of a team to ensure the smooth operational running of the unit.
- Mentor pre-registration students and more junior members of staff, sharing your expertise and knowledge to support their development.
- Act as Nurse in Charge of the shift as required, demonstrating leadership and management skills.

Person SpecificationWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Neonatal Nurse to join our Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) team at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. The ideal candidate will have:
- Registered RN (Child) with NMC
- Neonatal experience
- Qualification in Speciality (Neonatal)
We also welcome applications from candidates with Safeguarding training and Teaching and assessing qualification.
ExperienceWe are seeking a Neonatal Nurse with relevant experience and competent in the stabilisation of the neonate. The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrates relevant neonatal experience and competent in the stabilisation of the neonate.
- Demonstrate previous experience of working with children, infants, and young persons.
