Job Title: Children's Home Manager

Job Summary:

YourCareer-Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Home Manager to lead our residential children's home in West London. As a Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring it meets the expectations and standards set out in its Statement of Purpose.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the children's home, ensuring it meets the expectations and standards set out in its Statement of Purpose.
  • Ensure the home is consistently meeting standards set by the company and legislation, such as the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
  • Lead the home through external and internal inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with Ofsted Registration criteria.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, ensuring the home remains fully compliant with safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Perform the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead, acting as a source of advice on child protection matters and coordinating action within the home.
  • Undertake risk assessments to identify any risk factors and take necessary remedial action.
  • Promote a culture of openness and transparency, ensuring anyone feels confident to report poor practice.
  • Report and liaise with relevant professionals involved in multi-agency safeguarding arenas.
  • Make decisions with the child at the centre at all times.

Requirements:

  • 2 years' experience in a residential home setting with children and young people, aged 11-16.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted Regulations and how an Ofsted-regulated service operates.
  • Understanding of the Every Child Matters framework.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Health & Social Care, or Degree level.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team, ensuring a culture of openness and transparency.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
