Lead Mental Health Social Care Delivery

Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to lead our newly restructured Integrated Mental Health Social Care service.
This exciting opportunity arises following a comprehensive service review, which has seen Wokingham Borough Council (WBC) and Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BHFT) collaborate to deliver a more integrated approach to mental health support.
Your Role:
- Lead the delivery of social care services, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Provide high-quality support to individuals with complex mental health needs, focusing on those experiencing severe mental illness.
- Collaborate closely with BHFT colleagues within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.
- Manage and develop a dedicated social care pathway, working in partnership with WBC locality and commissioning services, as well as VCSO and Third sector organizations.
We are looking for:
- An experienced mental health professional with a strong understanding of Safeguarding, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, and Human Rights legislation.
- Proven experience in working with adults experiencing severe mental illness.
- A highly motivated individual with excellent managerial skills and a passion for leading and shaping the service.
- Ideally, you will possess an understanding of AMHP requirements, have led improvement or change projects, or hold AMHP approval.
