Civil Engineering Operatives
Location: Midlands
Salary: £36,000 - £49,000 based on qualifications and experience
Working Hours: 50 hours per week
We are seeking multiple Civil Engineering Operatives to join our esteemed Highways Infrastructure clients. This position primarily covers the Midlands region, with potential assignments further afield. The remuneration ranges from £36,000 to £49,000, contingent upon experience and certifications. Candidates should be prepared for occasional night shifts and weekend work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing general civil engineering tasks including working at heights, installing lanterns, erecting signs, laying ducts, reinstating surfaces, cabling, and groundwork.
  • Constructing chambers to meet highway and utility specifications.
  • Ensuring all installations are completed to the required standards.
  • Excavation activities.
  • Building cabinet and feeder pillar sites.
  • Operating heavy machinery or vehicles.
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Conducting trial holes and hand excavations as necessary.
  • Identifying site risks and challenges, providing proactive solutions.
Candidate Requirements
  • Capable of undertaking manual labor, including trenching and cable laying.
  • Willingness to work night shifts and travel if necessary.
  • Participation in all provided training programs.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Able to collaborate effectively within a team and possess strong communication skills.
  • HERS registered or a valid CSCS Card Holder.
  • Demonstrating a solid understanding of working on high-speed roads, traffic signage, highway lighting, and related civil engineering tasks.
  • Possession of a full UK Driving Licence.
