Farm Worker/Van Driver Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Farm Worker/Van Driver. This is a permanent role that requires a mobile person willing to drive between multiple farms within the Skipton and Lancashire areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support farms during labour-intensive operations
  • Contribute to the production of high-quality hatching eggs with high hatchability
  • Work as part of the Breeder Service Team, alongside other farm colleagues, when vaccinating and transferring birds to the laying farm
  • Provide support with chick placement, bird grading and weighing, flock transshipment, egg collecting and sampling
  • Work with minimal supervision and enjoy a 'hands-on' role in a farming environment

Requirements:

  • Driving Licence (a shared work van is provided)
  • Keen interest in farming and animal welfare
  • Ability to acquire new skills and learn from experience

Working Hours:

This role is a 5 from 7 shift pattern, with a sixth day as required by the needs of the business, covering 40 hours a week. Overtime is payable at 1.5 times the standard rate.

Salary and Benefits:

The annual salary for this role is £27,393.00, with additional pay of £10 per working day if required to work on one of our contract farms. Benefits include a pension, life assurance, family-friendly policies, and learning and development opportunities.

Interview Process:

The successful applicant will need to attend a formal interview at our client's premises in Carnforth. This role is available for an immediate start.
