About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Editor to join our Digital Live text team at the BBC Group and Public Services. As a Senior Editor, you will play a key role in shaping the editorial direction of our live digital coverage, working closely with a team of Live writers and producers to deliver high-quality, engaging content to our global audience.

Main Responsibilities
  • Editorial Leadership: Provide editorial guidance and direction to the Live text team, ensuring that our coverage is accurate, engaging, and meets the highest standards of journalism.
  • Content Creation: Develop and implement a content strategy that drives engagement and grows our audience, working closely with writers and producers to create high-quality, live digital content.
  • Team Management: Manage a team of Live writers and producers, providing coaching, guidance, and support to help them develop their skills and achieve their full potential.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other teams across the BBC to ensure that our live digital coverage is integrated with other platforms and services, and that we are delivering a seamless and engaging experience for our audience.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that our live digital content meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and editorial integrity, working closely with our quality assurance team to identify and address any issues.
Requirements
  • Proven Editorial Experience: A strong track record of editorial experience, with a proven ability to lead and manage a team of writers and producers.
