Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will oversee the corporate communications strategy, which includes crafting a comprehensive company narrative for media engagement and crisis response. You will lead and support various initiatives, collaborating closely with other members of the communications teams (both global and regional), including marketing, to ensure cohesive messaging. Building strong relationships with key stakeholders will be essential to stay informed about all business activities.

Brand Oversight

  • Spearhead the development and execution of the refreshed brand positioning to guarantee consistent representation of the Dechra brand to all audiences (including employer branding). Create templates and tools to facilitate brand adherence.
  • Cultivate and manage a corporate voice that aligns with our branding and values.
  • Act as a brand steward, ensuring that all communications reflect consistency across all public relations materials. Ensure that the tone and character of the brand are evident in all written content (both internal and external).
  • Innovate new methods to encourage colleagues to enhance the brand's reputation.
  • Conduct regular brand assessments (including competitor benchmarking, brand identity, share of voice, social media engagement, and overall global consistency).
  • Facilitate the implementation of the Crisis Management Policy, including the development and delivery of training programs.
  • Manage the Brand Communications activity calendar.

Content Development

  • Create engaging and impactful content while directing creative execution to ensure consistent messaging across all digital and traditional platforms.
  • Assist in the proactive generation of internal and external news and content (writing, building, and distributing) while maintaining regular communication with key sources throughout the Dechra Group to uncover compelling stories.
  • Draft press releases, blog posts, website content, and social media updates to support our initiatives and the growth of the Dechra brand.
  • Collaborate closely with the global digital marketing team to optimize content.
  • Oversee and manage the @Dechra Corporate social media channels, monitoring for high-profile comments and regularly updating content. Work alongside social media teams across the organization to establish best practices and share corporate content.
  • Supervise projects to ensure all content is ready for publication.
  • Support the Senior Executive Team in crafting messages or scripts for employee presentations in both written and spoken formats.
  • Collaborate with the broader communication team to ensure internal messaging aligns with brand communications across all channels and departments within Dechra.
  • Assist in the localization of brand content.
  • Contribute innovative ideas for new programs and related communications.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in digital/content marketing and internal communications.

Content Management and Distribution

  • Collaborate with the Head of Digital Communications to identify new opportunities for enhancing our brand communications and employee engagement initiatives across the organization.
  • Coordinate the adaptation and distribution of content across all media and key target audiences.
  • Monitor current issues and identify news hooks relevant to our marketing and internal communication campaigns to leverage for content creation and execution.
  • Respond to feedback from staff and adjust communication content as necessary.
  • Measure and track communication KPIs, including reach, engagement, sentiment, conversion, retention, and advocacy, and assist in producing monthly management reports.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manage external partners (such as PR and branding agencies, digital platform providers, video production companies, industry media, and printers) to ensure projects are completed to a high standard, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Develop communication protocols and initiatives.
  • Monitor spending to remain within budgetary limits.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong verbal presentation, group dynamics, and facilitation skills.
  • Exceptional copywriting abilities - a demonstrated talent for writing, with proven experience in drafting brand copy, social media posts, blogs, features, and articles.
  • Capability to manage personal workload (and that of others), meet deadlines, and maintain focus on long-term objectives.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, coordinating with multiple teams across the organization.
  • A personable demeanor, with touchpoints across HR, Sustainability, marketing, and key stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Proven experience in a similar capacity.
  • Background in PR and communications, including digital and social media.
  • Ability to simplify complex ideas into clear, easily understood language.
  • Experience in writing for a variety of online and offline channels.
  • Knowledge of current trends in digital communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • A degree or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to travel globally as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with design software, including Adobe Creative Cloud, is advantageous.
  • Experience with content management systems.
  • Understanding of SEO and web analytics tools.
  • Background in PR, Communications, Marketing, Business, or Journalism.
  • Project Management Certification.
