Lincoln, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust Full time

Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity is available for a Band 7 Charge Nurse within the Outpatient department.

As the Outpatient Charge Nurse, you will collaborate closely with the leadership team across the organization to ensure that your teams and outpatient facilities are providing safe, high-quality, patient-focused care, in alignment with the organization's vision, values, and behaviors. Your strong communication and leadership abilities will be essential as you guide and support your teams with compassion to implement necessary improvements in our services. You will also work alongside colleagues to facilitate the execution of the Outpatient Improvement strategy.

Although your primary location will be within the Outpatient department, flexibility is required, including the possibility of covering other sites as needed, to promote an integrated approach to outpatient service delivery.

As a key access point to healthcare, outpatient services cater to patients, caregivers, and visitors arriving with diverse information and care requirements. These needs can range from seeking health advice to addressing significant impacts on their physical and mental health.

Providing effective outpatient services that guarantee the highest standard of care and support for patients and their families is crucial for ensuring a positive experience and fostering a favorable impression of the organization.

Main Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will encompass demonstrating the achievement of key quality and safety performance metrics, including staff experience, management, training, and patient satisfaction.

The Outpatient Charge Nurse will also be expected to participate in and be accountable for all essential meetings related to outpatient services, including governance and performance discussions.

You will ensure that all staff receive appropriate training to uphold patient safety within our departments, while also delivering high-quality nursing care and maintaining overall management of the department.

Providing direction and leadership to the nursing team, you will establish and maintain effective professional relationships with the multidisciplinary team across the organization.

Additionally, you will implement and manage effective change initiatives to enhance the outpatient service for both staff and patients.
