Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at St Barnabas House, a leading provider of specialist palliative care services in the Worthing, Adur, Arun, and Henfield areas.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, holistic care to patients with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-professional team to deliver evidence-based care and support.
  • Act as a key worker for allocated patients, coordinating their care and ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, carers, and the bereaved.
  • Contribute to the development of palliative care services and promote best practice within the organization.

Person Specification
  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Adult Branch Nurse.
  • Diploma-level qualification or willingness to attain.
  • Teaching qualification or experience of mentoring other colleagues and student nurses.
  • Experience of using a palliative care approach to patient care.
  • Experience of supervising junior staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to facilitate individualized evidence-based care.
  • Leadership insight with evidence of effective team coordination skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and be flexible to changing demands.
  • Ability to share knowledge with others to develop and influence practice.
  • Able to maintain active and contemporaneous records.
  • Well-developed coping strategies.
  • Good understanding of palliative care principles and philosophy.
  • Basic pain and symptom control knowledge.
