Responsibilities will encompass fostering relationships with local authorities to underscore the significance of tracking and managing environmental performance, alongside delivering exceptional support through webinars, collaborative groups, resources, and more.
About CDP
CDP operates as a non-profit organization that manages the global disclosure framework for investors, corporations, cities, states, and regions to oversee their environmental impacts. Recognized globally as the benchmark for environmental reporting, CDP provides the most extensive and detailed dataset on corporate and urban actions. Our latest five-year strategy aims to accelerate transformative change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitating the annual reporting process for all participating UK cities while offering additional support to cities across the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).
- Motivating city governments to disclose their environmental data through CDP via personalized outreach, including calls, emails, in-person meetings, webinars, and other engagement activities.
- Assisting in the planning and execution of both online and in-person events and workshops.
- Enhancing the quality of reported data by providing tailored technical assistance.
- Building and maintaining relationships through CDP's customer relationship management (CRM) platform.
- Contributing to data analysis efforts and creating resources that highlight the benefits of disclosure.
- Supporting campaigns (e.g., Race to Zero, Race to Resilience) and collaborating with organizations throughout the UK.
- Assisting the UK Cities Manager and EMEA Regional Manager in their initiatives within the UK and broader EMEA region.
- Representing CDP and the cities program at various conferences, meetings, and webinars.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in urban and/or climate-related fields.
- Understanding of climate change mitigation and adaptation challenges in urban environments.
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with a knack for simplifying complex subjects.
- Experience in providing support in a client-facing capacity.
- Familiarity with the role of reporting in local climate governance and action.
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and quick to learn new IT systems.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment and effectively manage key responsibilities.
- Self-driven with a proactive approach.
- A collaborative team player who can perform under pressure.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to high standards.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in environmental studies or sustainability.
- Direct experience working with governmental bodies.
- Public speaking experience.
- Familiarity with customer relationship management software.
- Fluency in an additional European language.
