Job Title: Prison Intelligence Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Prison Intelligence Officer to join our team at Counter Terrorism Policing. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in disrupting and investigating criminal activity within the prison estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with regional partners to identify and develop intelligence strands linked to offending behavior.
  • Undertake investigations, offender management, and intelligence work to inform disruption tactics or investigative processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify opportunities for Law Enforcement Agency disruptions and interventions against highest harm offenders.
  • Provide a consultative service to all agencies involved in investigations, interventions, and disruptions within the prison estate.

Essential Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to effectively case manage, work on own initiative, and with limited supervision.
  • Investigative and/or disruptions experience, and knowledge of organized crime groups/level 2 criminality.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to demonstrate high levels of honesty and integrity.
  • Ability to problem solve and take ownership for delivering outcomes.
  • Ability to work within a multi-agency team.

Desirable Skills and Competencies

  • Successful completion of the National Investigators' Exam and Initial Crime Investigators Development Programme (ICIDP), or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Regional Organized Crime and Counter Terrorism policing, legislation, structure, and practices.
  • Knowledge of intelligence handling processes and covert tactics in investigations.

Security Clearance

This role is subject to successful completion of Security Check vetting. You must be a British citizen to work for Counter Terrorism Policing. If you hold dual nationality, with the primary nationality British, you may also be considered.
