About the Role

Metsa Group is a leading forest industry company with a strong commitment to sustainability. We are seeking an experienced Assembly Production Manager to join our team in Boston, UK.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the production teams across multiple shifts to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives and drive continuous improvement.
  4. Coach and develop production managers and team leaders to unlock their full potential.
  5. Implement lean six sigma methodology to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
  6. Manage manufacturing performance, volume, and quality goals to meet customer requirements.
  7. Proven experience in cost control and financial management of departmental P&L.
  8. Manage all aspects of discipline, appraisals, and training throughout the manufacturing team.
  9. Proven experience in workforce development through the recruitment process.
Requirements
  1. Minimum 5-10 years of manufacturing management experience with a strong track record of delivering sustained productivity and cost improvements.
  2. Proven experience of delivering an excellent safety performance within a company that strives to deliver an injury-free workplace.
  3. Strong employee engagement with a focus on team building, coaching, and stakeholder management.
  4. Able to demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to inspire, implement, and drive change.
  5. Minimum 5 years of Lean Six Sigma experience with a track record of using these skills to drive business improvements while embedding a zero-loss mindset.
  6. Experience in disciplinary and grievances procedures.
  7. Numerate with good data analysis skills and competent with Microsoft Office skills.
  8. Flexibility to travel throughout the UK with some nights spent away from home, where required.
