Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Engineer to join our team at G&H | ITL. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge hardware products for the life sciences and medical industries.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Design and develop digital and analogue electronics and firmware for products from concept through to production, taking into account requirements, timescales, cost, and regulatory constraints.
  • System Architectural Design: Develop system architectural designs and concepts, working closely with colleagues across the business.
  • Schematic and Board Layout: Create schematics and board layouts using Altium Designer CAD tool.
  • Prototype Build and Test: Build, test, and fault-find prototypes.
  • Specification and Requirements Capture: Capture and document specifications and requirements.
  • Hands-on Soldering and Fault Finding: Perform hands-on soldering and fault finding.
  • EMC and Electrical Safety Compliance: Support EMC and electrical safety compliance.
  • Cost Model Generation and Analysis: Generate and analyze cost models, including ROHS analysis and compilation.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance and oversight to junior engineers.

Requirements:

  • Digital and Analogue Design Experience: Proven experience in digital and analogue design.
  • Embedded Programming Experience: Experience in embedded programming, including 'C' and FPGA VHDL.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in C++,.net, C#, Java, Python, or algorithm development.
  • CAD Experience: Familiarity with CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout, with a preference for Altium.
  • EMC Compliance Design Techniques: Knowledge of EMC compliance design techniques and experience with accompanying equipment.
  • Report Writing and Communication: Excellent report writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Ability to lead and work effectively in a team environment, with strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience and Education: A minimum of 8 years of design experience, with a degree in a relevant field.
