Position Overview
We are pleased to announce an opportunity for an E-Rostering System Coordinator and Educator to become a vital part of our E-Rostering Team at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. Our team is dedicated to maximizing the advantages of our e-Rostering system for the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced IT skills and have substantial experience with information systems, particularly those related to e-Rostering. Previous experience in training delivery is highly advantageous.
The role of E-Rostering System Coordinator and Educator encompasses daily system support and training, necessitating a candidate with robust IT capabilities and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), a proactive approach, and the confidence to assist staff and management in resolving inquiries are essential. This position is dynamic and diverse, requiring a passion for problem-solving and the ability to manage one's workload effectively.
The E-Rostering Team is tasked with the development and upkeep of the trust's E-Rostering System. We oversee over 150 active rotas and ensure the accuracy of payroll submissions on a weekly and monthly basis. Additionally, the team is responsible for training both managers and staff on the effective and efficient use of the system, as well as assisting them in troubleshooting any issues that may arise. Our team fosters a supportive environment, always ready to assist colleagues as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance the E-Rostering utility across both clinical and non-clinical services within the organization.
- Provide comprehensive training on the E-Rostering system to staff, ensuring that they can fully leverage its benefits.
- Conduct training sessions for staff on the web-based E-Rostering system, enabling them to request shifts and access their individual profiles.
- Perform audits of the E-Rostering system to ensure proper usage and accurate staff compensation.
- Assist in the implementation of new system features to streamline services.
- Support the Centralized E-Rostering service.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
- Qualification in Allocate.
Desirable Qualifications
- Training qualification.
- IT qualification.
Essential Experience
- Experience with rostering systems, preferably Health Roster (Allocate), including development, maintenance, and verification of rosters.
- Significant administrative experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience in generating reports and analyzing data.
- Extensive experience in the NHS or a large, complex multi-site organization.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in resolving payroll queries.
- Familiarity with complex databases.
- Experience with ESR and ESR Business Intelligence.
- Experience in conducting training sessions for both individuals and larger groups.
Specialist Knowledge
Essential Knowledge
- Understanding of Information Governance and Data Protection.
- Knowledge of safe staffing requirements for inpatient settings.
