Support Assistant

Join our team as a Support Worker and make a positive impact on the life of a young adult with Autism.
About the RoleWe are seeking a compassionate and patient individual to provide support to N, a 19-year-old with Autism. The successful candidate will work with N to develop her confidence and independence, enabling her to access the community, visit shops, join social groups, and explore work/voluntary opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-to-one support to N, focusing on building her confidence and independence.
- Assist N in accessing the community, including visiting shops, joining social groups, and using public transport.
- Support N in developing her life skills, including cooking, baking, and using technology.
- Work with N to set and achieve goals, promoting her independence and self-confidence.
- Provide emotional support and understanding to N, acknowledging her anxieties and sensory sensitivities.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience of supporting individuals with Autism.
- Knowledge of the challenges faced by individuals with Autism in everyday life.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, understanding, and a calm demeanor.
- A genuine interest in supporting others to live their best life.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of £15-£20, depending on experience. The role will involve working 4 hours per week, with hours broken into several weekly sessions. Enhanced DBS clearance is essential.
