The Enterprise and Communities service plays a pivotal role in steering this regeneration towards sustainable development, ensuring that North Lanarkshire remains a desirable place to live, learn, work, invest, and visit.

As a member of the Housing Locality team, you will be tasked with supporting the Housing Service Manager in delivering services and guidance to a diverse clientele, including tenants from local authorities, Registered Social Landlords, and homeowners. Your responsibilities will encompass estate management, rent arrears prevention and recovery, addressing anti-social behavior, managing homelessness inquiries, and overseeing allocations-related administrative tasks. Additionally, you will oversee the regulated housing support services, including accommodations for older adults and temporary housing. You may also be required to act in place of the Housing Service Manager when necessary.

A qualification of SVQ level 3 / HNC or equivalent in a relevant field, along with substantial experience in budget management and monitoring, is essential. Proven experience in staff supervision, performance management, and service development is also crucial.

A thorough understanding of housing legislation, coupled with experience in resident consultation and community engagement, is required. Proficiency in IT and report writing is also necessary for this role.

Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

It is mandatory for the successful candidate to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) prior to commencing employment.

Additional Requirement: Participation in the Out of Hours Homeless Standby Service Escalation Officer roster during evenings and weekends is a requirement of this position. Compensation for standby periods will be provided in accordance with the SJC Salaries Agreement.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM to 4:45 PM

Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:15 PM
