Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking teaching assistant to join our forward-thinking school team. As a key member of our primary school community, you will provide essential support to our teachers and students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in the classroom, supporting students with their learning and well-being.
- Develop and maintain a safe and organized learning environment, adhering to school policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents, providing updates on student progress and needs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of educational programs, supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions, staying up-to-date with best practices in education and child development.
Requirements:
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to use ICT effectively to support learning.
- Experience working with children of relevant age, with a strong understanding of child development and learning theories.
- Full working knowledge of relevant policies, codes of practice, and legislation, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
- Working knowledge of national and foundation phase curricula, as well as other basic learning programs and strategies.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Training in relevant strategies to support learning, such as literacy or specific areas of hearing, sign language, dyslexia, ICT, Maths, and English.
- Appropriate first aid training, with the ability to respond to emergencies and provide basic care.
