Acute Maternity Cover Physician

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speciality Doctor to join our team at Priory Hospital Bristol. As a Speciality Doctor, you will play a key role in providing medical care to patients on our female acute unit, working closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Clerking in new patients and reviewing their mental/physical state throughout the working week
- Assessment, appropriate investigation, diagnosis and treatment under Consultant supervision of inpatients
- Developing treatment plans and programmes as appropriate to ensure good medical practice within the MDT settings
- Providing medical support to patients on the ward, including interviewing and reassessing patients at a frequency appropriate to their individual clinical needs
Requirements
- Full GMC registration
- 12 months' eating disorder experience
- Relevant experience within a similar setting (preferred)
- Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act (preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice along with Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity
- The ability to interview, assess and treat patients and write clear comprehensive medical notes
- Proven record of CPD
- Desirable: Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists, Physicians, General Practitioners or equivalent
