Wireless Communications Systems Engineer

As a Wireless Communications Systems Engineer, you will collaborate with a diverse array of stakeholders throughout the organization.
Your role will encompass the entire Engineering Lifecycle, engaging with teams from Build to Test & Commissioning.
Externally, you will liaise with Contractors, Suppliers, and clients.This position offers the chance to work with cutting-edge technology within the Defence sector, granting you comprehensive exposure to the Engineering Lifecycle.
Involvement in multiple significant projects, both ongoing and upcoming, will empower you to take charge of technical solutions presented to key defence clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesTypical responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Develop Design Documentation Sets, technical justifications, and specifications aligned with RAN (Radio Access Network) Solution Architect duties
- Ensure that reviews and deliverables for Contracts fulfill requirements and standards
- Create test specifications to support Design, Development & Qualification Contracts
- Formulate test specifications for System Integration Facility validation testing
- Provide support to Test and Commissioning Teams and Build activities
- Assist in the comprehensive design process
- Engage with suppliers and clients
- Offer advice on maintenance and spare parts strategies
- Support QUALITY initiatives to ensure a safe product and compliant operations
- Collaborate with the ICPDS Project Team to successfully deliver Radio Access Network Systems
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
- Technical expertise in Telecommunications (Voice & Data Technologies)
- Proficient knowledge of Radio VHF/UHF
- Familiarity with Trunked Radio Systems such as TETRA/P25/PMR/DMR/MPT1327
- Skills in Fault Diagnosis, Maintenance, and Repair of Radio Systems, Equipment, and Radio Access Networks
- Understanding of RF Spectrum Management.
Essential Skills:
- Experience as a RAN (Radio Access Network) Solution Architect
- Proficiency in Radio Network Planning
- Expertise in Radio Network Optimization
