About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Leader to join our team at Tesco. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring that customers receive excellent service, and that the store is run efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a team of colleagues to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales targets
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the store, including opening and closing procedures, stock management, and visual merchandising
  • Ensure that the store is clean, tidy, and well-presented at all times
  • Monitor and control stock levels, including ordering and receiving stock
  • Manage the store's cash handling and banking procedures
  • Develop and implement plans to improve customer service and sales performance
  • Work closely with the store manager to achieve business objectives and targets
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing role
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
