About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Vistry Group PLC, a leading provider of affordable mixed-tenure homes. As a key member of our Commercial team, you will play a crucial role in delivering cost control and financial reporting duties across all aspects of construction work undertaken by the Company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver cost control and financial reporting duties, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of construction costs.
  • Work closely with other departments, including Land, Development, and Construction, to advise on cost implications and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Attend design meetings to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and manage construction cost analysis, including analysis of quotations and requests for additional information.
  • Collaborate with the Construction Director to assess site staffing levels and build programs, ensuring accurate cost estimation and budgeting.
  • Arrange and adjudicate budget settlement meetings, working closely with the Commercial team to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Prepare stage payment schedules to facilitate financing of works and ensure timely payment to subcontractors.
  • Place subcontractor orders, negotiate contract sums, and finalize costs for variations and late changes.
  • Issue variation orders, development changes, and provide cost advice on major variations prior to issue.
  • Check and reconcile all costs posted to each contract, identifying potential areas of over-expenditure and providing monthly analysis of costs.
  • Agree final accounts with subcontractors, ensuring all works have been completed within budget and analyzing costs to inform future estimates.
  • Take responsibility for preparing documents for external valuation with the client's agent, including CSA, stage payment schedules, and tick-offs.
  • Keep the RAMS schedule updated and issued to relevant parties.
  • Liaise with the Customer Service department on post-completion defects, providing cost advice where necessary.
  • Attend site meetings, project team meetings, subcontractor meetings, and surveying meetings as required.
