About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Behaviour Support Worker to join our team of professionals supporting students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students in developing positive behaviours and learning programmes.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other colleagues to ensure effective support.
  • Liaise with families, careers, and external agencies to implement Individual Education Plans.
  • Work as part of the Inclusion Team to provide support to disaffected and vulnerable students.
  • Take responsibility for the safety and welfare of individuals and small groups of students.
Requirements
  • Passionate and caring individual with a strong commitment to supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Grades A-C in Maths and English at GCSE.
  • Previous experience working with SEN, challenging behaviours, youth offending, youth work, or support work.
  • Desirable qualifications include TEAM TEACH.
  • Flexibility and ability to work well within a team.
  • Experience working with children with a variety of needs and backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and empathetic listening skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one.
