Job Title: Assistant Finance Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Finance Manager to join our client's leadership team in Weston-Super-Mare. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounting and Auditing: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Payroll and Benefits: Manage payroll activities, including time sheets and agency records, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Credit Control and Debt Management: Monitor and manage credit control and debt management activities to ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to management, including variance analysis and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Professional Qualifications: Professional qualifications from a recognized accountancy body, such as CIMA, ACCA, or AAT.
  • Accounting Software: Experienced user of accounting software, specifically Xero, and competent with banking, invoicing, purchase ledger, reconciliations, and journals.
  • Senior Level Experience: Significant experience at a senior level to demonstrate competence in planning, delivering, and reviewing annual budget cycles for a multi-site operation.
  • Investigation and Analysis: Ability to investigate and identify trends, provide commentary, and recommendations to monthly management accounts.
