About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Assurance Standards Consultant to join our team at The Openwork Partnership. As a key member of our Compliance Oversight function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective delivery of assurance oversight, maintaining the safety of our business, and reducing consumer harm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify and report quality, trends, themes, emerging risks, and behavioural indicators to ensure the integrity of our regulatory controls.
  • Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies and strengthen regulatory controls to maintain a robust assurance framework.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and oversight across Openwork and 2plan entities within the COO function to support the delivery of effective control management across AR monitoring activity.
  • Undertake a variety of governance, monitoring, and assurance activities, including supporting compliance-based audits and risk assessments focused on systems and controls across operational functions.
  • Effectively escalate and implement solutions to maintain the safety of our business and reduce consumer harm.
  • Display a deep understanding of end-to-end business processes, procedures, and systems to ensure the implications of change are fully understood and communicated.
  • Support projects and initiatives as required, including internal and external audits and oversight.
  • Regularly review policies and standards to ensure they are up-to-date and fit for purpose.
  • Collaborate with business functions to document governance frameworks and processes, as needed.
  • Attend relevant groups and committees, as required.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience in a similar role in financial services, with a strong understanding of FCA legislation, particularly TCF and Data Protection.
  • Qualified to Diploma Level (preferred or working towards) with a strong understanding of The Openwork Partnership assurance model, risk/control frameworks, governance, and regulatory controls.
  • Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and manage conflict effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and sound judgement skills based on knowledge of regulatory rules.
  • Professional, organised approach, with the ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure.
  • Confident and articulate communication style, with the ability to influence and manage conflict effectively.
  • Strong organisation skills, including both verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to prioritise on own initiative and work independently.
