Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for enthusiastic and skilled Physiotherapists to become part of our dynamic rotational Band 6 Physiotherapy team.

Our professionals rotate every 8 months across various acute and community teams, encompassing specialties such as Respiratory Care, Geriatrics and Complex Medicine, Neurosurgery, Acute Neurology, Major Trauma, Neuro-rehabilitation, Stroke Management, and Community Stroke/Neuro services. Additionally, there will be opportunities to rotate through Musculoskeletal Outpatients. We pride ourselves on our strong, multidisciplinary teams, and you will receive support from the Physiotherapy Operational and Professional Lead, Clinical Leads, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

You will play a vital role in supporting the broader team and contributing to the enhancement of services within the multidisciplinary environment. Therefore, teamwork, leadership capabilities, and experience in supervising both staff and students are essential qualifications.

Applicants should possess substantial post-registration experience, including work at a Band 5 level (or higher) in both acute and community contexts, covering a diverse range of specialty areas. Participation in the respiratory on-call rota and weekend duties will be expected.

Demonstrating specialized knowledge in patient assessment and treatment is crucial, along with an understanding of National Guidelines/Standards and evidence of postgraduate training.

Essential skills include advanced communication abilities, adaptability, strong organizational skills, and effective time management. Basic IT proficiency is also required.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Evidence of relevant postgraduate training in core areas

Desirable

  • Membership in the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

Essential

  • Experience in all core areas, including respiratory, neurological, musculoskeletal, and community settings
  • Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Demonstrated teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration within a clinical environment
  • Experience supervising students and other staff members in a clinical context
  • Experience in both acute and community healthcare settings
  • Contributions to Quality Improvement (QI) or service development initiatives
  • Strong communication skills
  • Completion of a recognized clinical educators course
  • Significant experience within the NHS

Desirable

  • Awareness of Integrated Staff Training (IST) and leadership in staff development
