Role Overview:
We invite applications from Shift Engineers with experience in Critical Environments or those aspiring to transition into such settings. As a member of the Data Centre Solutions team, your responsibilities will encompass:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the operational integrity and maintenance of site electrical systems in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Maintain and execute Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules for all installed equipment, ensuring timely and high-quality completion.
  • Address daily maintenance tasks and respond to reactive issues concerning electrical equipment and assets.
  • Document and update information in computer-based systems, particularly the PPM system.
  • Identify and rectify faults, escalating issues related to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning as necessary.
  • Oversee the installation and modification of electrical services on-site.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Shift Supervisor regarding plant status, isolation procedures, ongoing tasks, and housekeeping standards.
  • Accurately report any required parts and challenges encountered during engineering activities to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Ensure that all work areas, including plant zones, workshops, and rest areas, are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness.
  • Operate and troubleshoot various systems, including:
    • Building Electrical Installations (associated panels, equipment, and circuits)
    • Emergency Lighting
    • Lighting Control Systems
    • Building Management Systems (BMS)
    • Fire Suppression and Detection Systems
    • Air Conditioning Systems, including VAV, FCUs, and Split Systems
    • AHUs and Variable Speed Drives
    • Heating Systems
    • Generators and Control Systems
    • Single and Three Phase Motors
    • UPS Systems and Associated Control Systems
    • Operation of High Voltage Systems (training will be provided)

Required Skills:

  • Experience in the Building Services sector
  • C&G qualified or equivalent in electrical services/maintenance
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

Additional Qualifications:

  • HV Approved Person
  • Confined Space Entry Training (if applicable)
  • Recognized Training or Apprenticeship
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with all levels of personnel
  • Technical competence in building services, particularly in UPS, generators, static switches, water treatment, refrigeration, and air conditioning
  • Proactive approach to achieving operational excellence
  • Willingness to participate in on-site and off-site training for new systems and equipment
  • Reliability and conscientiousness
