Key Responsibilities- Case Work Support: Provide high-quality support to survivors of domestic violence, working closely with each woman to develop and implement individual safety support plans.
- Case Management: Manage and prioritize a varied case load, ensuring effective support and advocacy for each woman.
- Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans to ensure the well-being and safety of women and children.
- Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of women with external agencies, including MARAC, courts, housing, children and adult social care, health, and other voluntary and community organizations.
- Team Collaboration: Attend case review and team meetings, contributing to effective team communication and collaboration.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of all work undertaken, ensuring compliance with data protection and confidentiality policies.
- Safeguarding: Protect the safety and security of the organization, service users, staff, volunteers, and all those in the work of the organization's premises, adhering to Safeguarding Children and Adult policies, Health & Safety, and Equal Opportunities.
- Legislative Compliance: Adhere to relevant legislation, including Safeguarding Children and vulnerable adults, Equality & Diversity, Employment, and Health and Safety, and stay updated on changes or proposed changes in relevant legislation, policy, and practice.
- Service Delivery: Contribute to the delivery of service outcomes, using clear and coherent targets and monitoring systems to provide evidence that Survivor outcomes are met.
- On-Call Support: Provide telephone support to residents as required, working on a rota basis to ensure 24/7 support.
- Accommodation Visits: Visit the accommodation when necessary, working with residents to provide support and advocacy.
- Partner Agency Liaison: Liaise with partner agencies as required, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies or serious incidents, informing the on-call manager who will attend the accommodation with you.
- Volunteer Support: Work with volunteers as necessary to enhance the capacity of the service.
- Service Promotion: Promote the service widely to ensure referrals are received from women across all communities.
- Qualifications: Women's Aid or SafeLives Level 3 qualification is desirable, and a willingness and ability to attend this training and successfully achieve this qualification is essential.
- Experience: Experience of working with women affected by domestic abuse, including risk assessment and management, safety planning, and support planning.
- Cultural Awareness: Awareness and appreciation of cultural needs, with a specialist focus on BAMER communities.
- Understanding of Domestic Violence: Understanding of the practical, emotional, social, and economic issues facing women and children affected by domestic violence.
- Case Management Skills: Ability to manage own caseload, working under pressure and prioritizing workload.
- Communication Skills: Excellent IT, written, and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of Housing and Welfare: Knowledge of housing, welfare, and policy relating to domestic violence, including safeguarding for adults and children.
