We are a global leader in our field, based in the Cambridge area, and we are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead our team in developing a world-class range of products.

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in leading teams and managing projects to join our organization as a Head of Mechanical Engineering and Innovation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and manage a team of Mechanical Engineers to develop and implement departmental policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test mechanical components and systems.
  • Project Management: Oversee projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  • Technical Expertise: Develop and maintain strong knowledge of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and engineering software.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Foster excellent relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, and communicate effectively to ensure project success.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve processes and products.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a leadership role within a Mechanical Engineering department, with extensive experience in developing consumer-based products.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and engineering software, including CAD design tools (CREO, SolidWorks) and mechanical simulation tools (ANSYS).
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
