Job Summary:

The Public Spaces Strategy and Projects Officer will be responsible for the development of medium and long term strategies for the management and improvement of the council's open spaces and sports and play facilities in line with the Council's priorities, policies and procedures, including provision for monitoring, reviewing and benchmarking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for the management and improvement of open spaces and sports and play facilities.
  • Work closely with the Head of Public Spaces to ensure alignment with Council priorities and policies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and prioritize projects for implementation.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress, making adjustments as needed.
  • Provide support to the Head of Public Spaces on matters relating to strategy and projects.
  • Contribute to the development of the Council's Capital Programme.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of public space management and project delivery, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
