Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Engineer to become a vital part of our team at Kier Group.
Role Location: Various sites across the region, with a base in Crawley.
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Engineer, your primary focus will be to support the execution of construction activities, ensuring they are carried out with precision, efficiency, and adherence to established standards and regulations.
Your daily tasks will encompass:
- Understanding and implementing the Kier Safety, Health, and Environmental Management System to maintain a secure working environment.
- Monitoring ongoing projects and intervening to uphold safety standards when necessary.
- Conducting regular inspections to evaluate the quality and progress of construction work, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Interpreting technical drawings and specifications, effectively communicating details to the on-site workforce to ensure accurate project execution. Preparing sketches for site distribution as needed to facilitate clear communication.
- Providing engineering assistance to resolve technical challenges and address on-site issues, adapting to evolving conditions and unexpected obstacles.
Candidate Profile
This Construction Engineer role is ideal for individuals who possess:
- Experience in construction projects, with a solid understanding of construction methodologies and equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- A minimum of HND in civil engineering or a related discipline.
