Job Title: Associate Professor in Molecular and/or Cellular Cardiac Function

We are seeking an experienced and influential academic to join our team as an Associate Professor in Molecular and/or Cellular Cardiac Function. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of teaching and research in cardiac function at molecular and/or cellular levels, with a strong research track record and the ability to obtain funding.

About the Role

As an Associate Professor, you will be responsible for carrying out research, teaching, and management within the school, faculty, and university. You will contribute to academic leadership in the field of molecular and cellular aspects of heart function and work closely with members of our Cardiovascular and Exercise Sciences research community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in molecular and/or cellular cardiac function, with a focus on understanding the fundamental mechanisms of cardiac function in health and disease.
  • Teach and supervise students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a focus on molecular and cellular aspects of heart function.
  • Contribute to academic leadership in the field of molecular and cellular aspects of heart function, including developing and implementing research strategies and initiatives.
  • Work closely with members of our Cardiovascular and Exercise Sciences research community to integrate fundamental, clinical, and population-focussed research across heart function, neuromuscular and physical activity.
