Step Resourcing is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join a Principal Contractor/Developer in Chatham, Kent.
The ideal candidate will have 1 year of post-graduate experience or be on a university day release program, looking to gain practical experience.
The successful candidate will work as the company's Quantity Surveyor/Buyer, reporting to the Commercial Director.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing trade packages with subcontractors, agreeing pricing, scope of work, payment, and final accounts
- Reviewing main suppliers, negotiating for the best deals
- Managing day-to-day cost reporting
- Site visits to assess and monitor progress
The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced and hardworking team, primarily office-based in Chatham, with occasional site visits.
Our client is looking for a passionate, willing to learn, hardworking, and enthusiastic candidate who is eager to develop and grow within the business.
Required skills include:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Attention to detail in everything
- Proactive approach
- Ability to work as part of a small team in the office and larger teams on site
Salary: £25,000-£40,000 dependent on experience.
