Overview

Position Summary

This role presents a fantastic chance to join an award-winning legal practice within their Private Client division, which provides expert legal guidance to a diverse range of vulnerable clients. The firm has been acknowledged by the Legal 500 for its exceptional client service and high-caliber legal professionals.

The Court of Protection division is newly established, and this highly desirable position will allow you to collaborate with the Deputy and Head of the Court of Protection team to develop a successful unit and achieve continued growth.

The ideal applicant will possess at least one year of experience in Court of Protection matters and will assist with various aspects of Court of Protection work, including Personal Injury trusts, statutory wills, gift applications, and deputyship applications. You will also have the chance to support Senior Solicitors with Lasting Powers of Attorney and engage in probate and estate administration.

Strong client care abilities, along with experience in a Court of Protection setting, are essential. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, the Mental Capacity Code of Practice, and the Court of Protection Rules.

There is a consistent influx of new instructions from existing clients, and the firm is in search of a driven, technically proficient lawyer with ambition, who can cultivate relationships and reassure clients during potentially stressful circumstances.

  • Prior experience in a Court of Protection or Private Client department
  • Capability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and manage a diverse caseload
  • Strong legal acumen and leadership skills with attention to detail

  • Professional and effective interaction with team members and external contacts
