Position Overview
As an Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Division, you will be integral to the clinical oversight of patients diagnosed with upper gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary malignancies. Your role will involve both independent and collaborative efforts with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, ensuring that our services uphold exceptional standards and significantly enhance patient outcomes for those with suspected or confirmed cancer.
Your primary workplace will be within our healthcare facilities, with potential for cross-site collaboration to effectively address patient needs. If you are dedicated to improving the lives of cancer patients and excel in a team-oriented healthcare setting, we welcome your interest.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will encompass:
- Participating in multi-disciplinary meetings focused on Upper GI and HPB cases, coordinating patient pathways for oncology cases, including those suspected or confirmed to have cancer.
- Operating at an advanced practitioner level, facilitating early evaluations, supporting diagnoses, and ensuring timely treatment for patients within our organization, whether in inpatient or outpatient environments.
- Utilizing your specialized knowledge to address patient inquiries via telephone, effectively assessing and responding to their symptoms, concerns, and needs.
- Actively engaging in the management of upper GI cancer clinics, ensuring that necessary investigations are appropriately requested and communicated to patients.
- Attending Upper GI and HPB multi-disciplinary team meetings, ensuring that action outcomes are communicated to clinicians and facilitating interactions with tertiary centers to expedite diagnostics and address any delays.

Qualifications
Essential:
- Registered Nurse.
- Evidence of recent specialty-related learning.
- Accredited level 6/7 education.
- Degree-level education.

Experience

- Demonstrable experience in the specialty area.
- Evidence of mentorship or teaching experience.
