Position Overview

As the Patching and Lining Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in managing the repair and restoration of wastewater and sewer infrastructures utilizing advanced patching and lining methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will:
  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of sewer rehabilitation initiatives focused on patching and lining.
  • Ensure timely project completion while adhering to budget constraints and quality benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with various departments, contractors, and clients to streamline project workflows.
  • Lead and mentor a team of technicians and laborers in executing patching and lining tasks.
  • Provide training on safe and effective repair methodologies.
  • Evaluate team performance through regular assessments.
  • Conduct inspections to assess sewer system conditions and determine suitable repair strategies.
  • Utilize trenchless technologies, including cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining, for optimal repair efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with UK wastewater management regulations and Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of project activities, materials utilized, and safety evaluations.
  • Promptly address any defects or issues to uphold sewer system integrity.
  • Implement continuous improvement practices to refine repair techniques and outcomes.
  • Communicate project updates, challenges, and resolutions to engineers, project managers, and clients.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on project status.
  • Professionally manage customer inquiries and concerns.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Experience in wastewater management or sewer rehabilitation, with a portion of this experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • A strong grasp of sewer repair techniques, particularly patching and trenchless lining.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant tools and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • GCSEs or equivalent; technical certification or NVQ in a related discipline is preferred.
