About the Role:
The University of Edinburgh Research Office is seeking a highly skilled Research Funding Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the Research Funding Team, you will play a crucial role in facilitating, supporting, and contributing to the submission and award of externally funded research activity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance on content, administrative structures, and project budgets for research proposals
- Support budget preparation, review, and submission of applications
- Collaborate with researchers, local professional services staff, and external collaborators to provide guidance on funder requirements, legal contracting, eligibility, and more
- Work agilely across teams to support the delivery of business-critical objectives
Requirements:
- Process-driven with great attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Demonstrable knowledge of the UK research environment
- Demonstrable ability to analyze and summarize complex issues in research funding
- Team player with good interpersonal skills, a collegial, and customer-focused approach to service delivery
