We are seeking a driven Carbon focused Originator to source, evaluate, and originate new carbon and BESS optimisation deals.

Our client is extremely focused on growth and offers a lot of potential for career advancement within the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through relationship-building with potential clients, partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Establish a profit center focused on carbon and emissions trading, encompassing trading activities, risk management, and commercial strategy.
  • Assess and secure new BESS and SaaS deals, ensuring compliance with company standards and risk guidelines.
  • Create and deliver comprehensive proposals and reports to senior management.
  • Oversee the tender process for front-of-the-meter assets, ensuring prompt and high-quality submissions.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to secure agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as data science, legal, compliance, trading, and operations, to ensure smooth transaction processing.
  • Keep and maintain a strong pipeline of potential deals.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to represent the company and grow business connections.
Requirements
  • Experience in origination, trading, project originator, or project developer.
  • Industry: Energy, Carbon, Renewable, Gas, Power, BESS, Solar, Demand Side Response (DSR).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Skills: Exceptional negotiation, communication, consultative relationship building, high self-motivation, integrity, and meticulous attention to detail.
