Job Description

**Transport Planner Role**

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the movement of goods and resources.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To plan and optimize transportation routes, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • To coordinate with drivers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
  • To manage driver hours, ensuring compliance with regulations and minimizing downtime.
  • To plan and schedule maintenance for vehicles and equipment, ensuring optimal utilization and minimizing downtime.
  • To assist in the development and implementation of transportation strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • To provide support to the Transport Manager in driver training and development, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • To be on call for the first two shifts of each four-shift cycle, providing support and resolving issues as needed.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with drivers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and satisfaction.
