Job Title: Commercial Insurance Underwriter

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate underwriting activities for key clients of our International Health and Dental insurance portfolios, aligning with our corporate strategy.
  • Conduct underwriting at the brand level, white-labeling for our key partners.
  • Contribute to the profitability of our schemes and products, managing scheme net loss ratio performance against targets.
  • Analyze data to make informed underwriting decisions, interpreting and maximizing data effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance department to compile policy wordings, endorsements, and addendums.
  • Support Account and Business Development teams in creating and enhancing products, focusing on customer needs.
  • Monitor and analyze sales and underwriting performance, identifying best practices and championing their implementation.
  • Coordinate annual renewal pricing and product reviews, utilizing scheme performance data to propose enhancements.
  • Champion the use of new methods and techniques to manipulate and present data more efficiently.
  • Contribute to the design and update of Medical Underwriting guidelines and processes.
Requirements:
  • Strong technical insurance underwriting background with an intimate understanding of the IPMI and Health market.
  • Ability to analyze data to make underwriting decisions.
  • Experience in underwriting new and renewing portfolios to grow and manage performance in multiple geographic regions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Good business acumen and ability to balance creativity with commercial delivery.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in disseminating complex technical concepts.
  • Extensive experience within Consumer lines (Health products preferred) Insurance experience in a similar role.
  • Strong command of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (intermediate/advanced).
