About the Role
To ensure that all electrical work is carried out in accordance with relevant regulations and company procedures, including the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and BS 7671 (as amended).
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out repair work as per works orders and in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure commercial requirements are met.
- Perform inspection and testing on all electrical work, ensuring accurate and complete results, and maintain relevant paperwork and electronic data records.
- Seek authorisation from relevant office-based approvers before proceeding if work required differs from works orders, and document any additional works carried out.
- Utilise existing stock or collect materials as required to meet works orders, in accordance with standard operating procedures for purchasing and van stock control compliance.
- Attend informal and formal meetings and training sessions to ensure up-to-date business and job knowledge, communication, and skills are maintained.
- Adopt a professional manner when communicating with service users and/or client/external contacts to build and maintain a positive view of Mears Group.
- Highlight any safeguarding concerns to the relevant customer and community officer within branch as early as possible.
- Use and maintain company vehicle/van in accordance with company vehicle and insurance policies to ensure safety, compliance, and accurate and timely reporting of damage, cleanliness, and condition.
- Participate in call-out cover if and when required to ensure contract compliance and service user satisfaction for emergency repairs.
Role Criteria
- City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2, or
- NVQ Level 3 Including AM2, or
- City and Guilds 2330 Levels 2 and 3, or
- City and Guilds 2394 – Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations, and
- City and Guilds 2395 – Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations, and
- City and Guilds /12 or th Edition of the Wiring Regulations, and
- City and Guilds or to have proof of having taken an TBT or an update course (subject to holding C&G2382) encompassing the 3rd amendment to BS7671:2008
- Full UK driving licence
- Previous experience in electrical installations
