Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and patient SEN teaching assistant to support a non-verbal child with complex ASD in a Primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with complex needs, including learning and development, behaviour management, and personal care.
  • Work collaboratively with the school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Support the child's educational and social development, including participation in lessons and activities.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with the child, their family, and school staff.
  • Contribute to a supportive and inclusive school environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with complex needs, including ASD and SLCN.
  • Previous experience working in a school environment.
  • Strong behaviour management techniques and experience with challenging behaviour.
  • TA qualifications or relevant degree.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Sound understanding of the UK Key Stage One Curriculum.
