About the Role

A259 Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our client's engineering team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing electrical systems for industrial vehicles and marine applications, ensuring compliance with ATEX, Ex, and IEC Ex regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design electrical systems for industrial vehicles and marine applications, taking into account extreme space constraint limitations.
  • Specify and select components for integration, including Ex-certified primary traction batteries.
  • Develop project specification documents, drawings in AutoCAD, and define electrical enclosure layouts.
  • Specify test requirements and produce product risk assessments and paperwork to support certification.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of electrical cabling for automotive, industrial, or marine applications.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical wiring and design of electrical systems using AutoCAD.
  • Ability to specify test requirements and select components for integration.
  • Understanding of electrical/mechanical system integration and creation of project documents.
  • BOM generation and project management skills.
  • Customer support and communication skills.
Desirable Skills
  • Broad knowledge of electrical and electronic control systems, including AC inverters, industrial controllers, and PLCs.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment and background in fault finding complex electrical systems.
Education and Qualifications

A relevant HND or Degree-level qualification is required for this role.
