About the Role

At Smithers, we are seeking a talented and inquisitive graduate to join our strategic consultancy team. Our consultancy team provides expert market data and forecasts to support business strategies for companies looking to grow, launch new products, or enter new markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and analysis to quantify and estimate market sizes, identify key players and market shares, and identify market trends.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and consistent statistics.
  • Create what-if financial and market sizing models to support business strategies.
  • Design and implement market research surveys to gather valuable insights.
  • Write high-quality commentary on research findings, including key learnings and implications.
  • Develop engaging graphical representations of data, analyses, and learnings.
  • Present and defend research findings and modeling results to stakeholders.
  • Develop costing and pricing estimates for quantitative elements of proposals.
  • Maintain and update internal market databases, generating data and scenarios using statistical and economic models.

Requirements

  • Experience in market sizing is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject.
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate logically, succinctly, precisely, and clearly in written and verbal form.
  • Data translation and analysis using Excel functionality.
  • Familiarity with industry and market analysis frameworks, such as Porter's Five Forces.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Any experience in the packaging and/or print industries is advantageous.
